A handmade long sleeve shirt blending dystopian grunge with kooky maximalist design. With sustainable deadstock and distressed fabrics sourced straight from NYC by your favourite Fashion Design student!

Inspired by slightly sci-fi aesthetic of Wall-E, this shirt embodies a kooky vision with more serious meaning. The “Anti-Waste Army Gal” concept is an idea that living sustainably by recycling and reusing really feels like a war against corporations and societal norms. It captures the tension between battle through the distressed fabric and recycling with the deadstock stripes used on the sleeves. 

The bodice is made from distressed fabric sourced in New York City at The Spandex House which gives it a rugged and lived-in texture. The sleeves feature lightweight deadstock fabric in a stripe pattern. They were repurposed to prevent waste. 

Lightweight in the sleeves with drapes and structure in the bodice with it being more stiff around the body. This creates a really unique and edgy silhouette.  

There’s a combination of distressed rayon /spandex blend through the sleeves and the bodice.
