The Walking on Sunshine shirt is a love letter to early 2000s fashion. Fashion used to be so bubbly, fun, and unapologetically colorful. What happened?! Inspired by the carefree spirit of the Lizzie McGuire movie and Y2K teen style, this piece is nostalgia to the core. It’s meant to feel like flirting in clothing form, giving you that “main character walking through Rome” scene.

Constructed from three different thrifted shirts, this design reimagines second-hand materials into something new. As a fashion student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I strongly believe in reclaiming design by giving life to old materials. It’s the sustainable way, the Zingmade way.

The bodice is crafted from cotton for comfort and stretch. The sleeves and back feature rayon fabric, which is a wood pulp based fabric that drapes lightly against the skin. Together, these elements create a vibrant patchwork effect that’s both fun and eco-conscious.

60% cotton and 40% rayon (repurposed fabrics)

Cotton adds breathability and softness

Measurements laying flat: 15.5” waist, 22.5” length, 17.5” armpit to armpit
